Baking with Mommy..

Once the word "Thanksgiving" is spoken in our house, the boys are asking if we can make some Pumpkin Pie.
It's one of their favorite things to do with me around the holidays!

They get so into it. They are so sweet. They take turns measuring things out and stirring. It is a memory that I wish always cherish.

They love to bake anything really and are always asking to help cook.
But something about always making sure they help me with the Pumpkin Pie each year is a tradition that I want to keep doing for many many more years to come!
Family traditions are so so so important to me. I want to be sure I always continue the simplest things things like baking a Pumpkin Pie together...

Hunting with Grandpa

It was that time of year again! That time where the kids spend the day hunting with Grandpa!
My boys LOVE to hunt and wish they could do it more often.

They had a countdown going and it was so sweet to see how excited they were!

They ended up getting a deer and were so excited!
My Dad sent me a video of them trying to drag the deer.
It was so cute?!?! (That kinda sounds weird to say. Hahaha.)

I love this tradition they started with my Dad years ago. Something they will always look forward to!

Trick or Treat {Halloween 2014}

I remember the good ol' days when I got to pick the boys' Halloween costumes.

Nowadays, I have zero say....

At first when I asked what the boys wanted to be this year Drew said a Black Ninja and Dylan said a shark.
So I hit up Google and brought up some pictures of costumes.
Dylan did not pick just any ordinary shark, he picked THE most gruesome shark costume there was with human legs and blood coming out of it's mouth.

"Uhm, Dylan you are not going downtown to trick or treat with human body parts coming out of your costume."

"But I want to be this one....." In crying tears....

Luckily, he changed his mind and wanted to be a Black Ninja just like big brother.

Last year we took the boys trick or treating house to house for the first time. It was a big hit and we were for sure we wanted to do that again this year. So we decided to skip the downtown parade we usually do and just hit up a couple local stores and then head out for the real deal trick or treating.

It.Was.Cold.
We ended up laying down all the seats in our car and blasted the heat so we would hop in the back in between houses.
But do you know how hard it is to keep track of black ninjas in the dark?? Sooooo hard!
And on top of that, we went with friends who also were black ninjas. So we had 5 black ninjas and 2 ninja turtles trick or treating the night away. Hahaha.

We called it quits kinda early this year because it was so cold and ended the night at O'Charley's for some dinner.

The kids had so much fun!
